Services
Our scientific library houses 290 journal titles and roughly 20,000 monographs (several hundred of which form part of the University of Ferrara’s historical book collection), which can be freely consulted by lecturers, research fellows and students. Lessons and other activities are conducted in spacious classrooms and up-to-date IT labs. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the Department.
Special services for exchange students include:
- Academic support from International Mobility Coordinators
- Assistance from Teaching Managers, a point of reference for all organizational matters relating to the Department’s teaching activities, personal study plan management, registering for exams, student services, and administrative formalities
- A multifaceted mentoring service, featuring a Teaching Tutor to assist students experiencing difficulties related to course content, and an Erasmus and International Mobility Tutor – a former exchange student who provides specific support to overseas students, helping familiarize them with the Department and the city.
Members of the Department also seek to promote the discipline in secondary schools by organizing and participating in activities such as the Maths Olympics (Olimpiadi della Matematica), as well as offering internships, workshops and other activities within the National Scientific Degree Programme (PLS - Piano Nazionale Lauree Scientifiche).
Scholarships and grants are provided by the University, by INDAM (“National Institute of Advanced Mathematics”) and under the National Plan for Scientific Degrees for those enrolling in Mathematics or Computer Science, and contribution as a tax refund or voucher for purchasing books or computer equipment for students enrolled in years subsequent to the first.
