Students admitted
● University of Ferrara
- maximum 3 students with the requirements to attend the first year of the Master of Science in Mathematics (Laurea magistrale)
● Universitat de València and Universitat Politècnica de València
- maximum 3 students admitted to the Máster Universitario en Investigación Matemática
Participating on this project, students will achieve two academic certificates, one in each university, which will be issued in two different academic qualifications and countries.
The three universities in agreement have established a list of exams from each plan of study that may be recognised to access the double degree program, indicating for each of them the number of ECTS and other specifications, in order to establish a clear and transparent equivalence.
Entry requirements and study plan
Students participating in the double degree program must observe in any case the access and admission requirements established by the regulations of each university.
Students of the University of Ferrara wishing to participate in the double degree program must be admitted in the Laurea Magistrale in Matematica, have the level of competence required and have skills in the Spanish language, have paid taxes and have a visa or residence permit in the country of destination. They will be enrolled at the Universitat de València and the Universitat Politècnica de València, in order to attend lectures offered into the Master en Investigación Matemática. To complete the enrolment, some exams, in accord to a table of correspondences, are recognised. The final thesis is prepared under the supervision of two lectures: one Italian and one Spanish. The final exam is discussed at both universities, with the possibility to carry it out by videoconference. This work may be presented in Italian, Spanish or Enghlish, with a short abstract in the languages not chosen.
Students of the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia who want to participate in the double degree program must be enrolled in the Máster en Investigación Matemática, have an appropriate level of skills in the Italian language, have paid taxes and have a visa or residence permit in the country of destination. They will be enrolled in the 2nd year of the Master of Science in Mathematics in Ferrara, in order to attend lectures and prepare the final work. To complete the enrolment, some exams, in accord to a table of correspondences, are recognised.
The set study plan could be modified due to adjustments or additions to the offer annual training, in accordance with the Bilateral Commission.
Selections
Each university will be responsible for the selection of students participating in the double degree program:
- at the Universitat de València and Universitat Politècnica de València by public announcement on a competitive basis. The evalutation is made by the Comisión de Coordinación Académica of the Master, who will inform the host university on the results.
- at the University of Ferrara, students who wish to participate in the call must apply, on the basis of the information available on the web page of the Mobility office (http://www.unife.it/studenti/internazionale/doppio-titolo/dipartimento-di-matematica-e-informatica-1). A Selection board evaluates the qualifications presented by the students, also interviewing them, in accordance with the approved selection criteria (academic merit, knowledge of Spanish language, motivational interview).
In addition, the selection process considers the academic documentation.
At the end, the home university sends the host university a full file of each student. The host university, after verifying the requirements, formalizes the registration.

Contribution
Students participating in this program must have a medical insurance including repatriation. Other expenses, including accommodation and meals, trips or educational materials, are paid by students.
Specific economic benefits could be offered, but students participating in this double degree program must enrol in their university of origin, paying all fees required, also to achieve the degree.
